Galway Bay U13s Set for Semi-Final Showdown with Loughrea

Galway Bay U13s Set for Semi-Final Showdown with Loughrea

Galway Bay’s U13 side travel to face a strong Loughrea team this weekend, with a place in the final up for grabs and excitement building right across the squad.

Both teams have shown plenty of quality to reach this stage, and Galway Bay come into the game in great form after two excellent performances in the competition so far.

A convincing win over Ballinrobe in the opening round was followed by a superb team display against Westport in the quarter-final. Across both games, the players have shown great teamwork, effort, and skill, improving with each outing.

There’s a real sense that this group is coming together at the perfect time. The work rate, support play, and decision-making have all stepped up, and the players are clearly enjoying their rugby.

Sunday’s semi-final in Loughrea will be a big test. Playing away from home against a well-organised side won’t be easy, but it’s exactly the kind of challenge this group has earned and will look forward to.

The reward is a place in the final at Dexcom Stadium next weekend against Corinthians, which would be a fantastic occasion for the players.

Kick-off is at 2pm on Sunday.

About Joe

Joe Naughton is a Galway-based writer who spends far too much time talking about sport and not nearly enough time playing it. A firm believer that every match deserves a proper write-up, even if it was played in sideways rain in a field with no lines.
